ES XARCU

Description and type: Follow directions for Cala Jondal and take a left-hand turn shortly before arriving at the latter and follow the signs. Alternatively, take the road from San Jose to Es Cubeils and a left-hand turn 2 kilometres before arriving at the latter, following the signs for Es Torrent.

Means of transport: By private car or by bicycle.

Distance: 13.5 kilometres from Ibiza, 9 kilometres from San Jose.

Description: A small inlet, not very long and somewhat narrow and enclosed, surrounded by the typical conifer trees and in surroundings made humid by the presence of a river-bed.
Length: approximately 100 metres Width: 10-15 metres
Composition: Fine natural sand.
Sea bottom: Sandy bottom with some rocky areas. Gentle gradient which allows you to walk out at least 30 metres from the shore, and as such ensure secure bathing.
Direction, prevailing winds: A southerly orientation provides light winds, always from the sea.
Panoramic aspects: Provides coastal scenery of the most dramatic sort with excellent views. The area around contains interesting conifer woods and a river-bed.
