CALÓ DE S´ALGA


Description and type: Along the tarmaced streets which lead to the promenade, near which this beach is located.

Means of transport: It can be reached by car or on foot or by bicycle given its closeness to the centre.

Distance: 14 kilometres from Ibiza, 1 kilometre from Santa Eularia.

Description: Another corner which is part of the large bay of Santa Eularia; it is a small beach protected by a man-made barrier of stones.
Length: 50 metres - Width: 10-12 metres
Composition: Fine dark-brown sand with areas of rocks and stones.
Sea bottom: More or less the same as that of Santa Eularia beach. There are rocky areas interesting for snorkellers.
Direction, prevailing winds: The winds are mainly from the south, permitting the practice of sailing sports.
Panoramic aspects: There is a fine view over to the marine cliffs of Cala Llonga, covered with a dense growth of Pitiusan coniferous woods.

SUMMARY COMMENT: This little corner offers the possibility of spending some agreeable and peaceful hours on the beach, acquiring a nice tan and doing a bit of snorkelling. The nearby promenade contains the possibility of taking a quiet stroll along the shoreline.
